The 1st Petrograd Women’s Battalion - approximately 200 soldiers- arrives at the Winter Palace. On learning that they have been summoned to defend the palace, rather than for a parade, as they were informed by telegram, some women soldiers demand to be taken back to Levashovo. Half a division are posted in the government chambers in the palace.

Georgy Tumanov, the aide to the Minister of the Military, who was arrested several hours ago, was killed in the yard of the Volynsky regiment barracks. Sailors have reportedly arrived at the barracks, pulled Tumanov outside and tortured him for one and a half hours, and then, once they killed him, they threw his body into the Moika river.
