Secretary of Pavlowa suicide, corner thinks Young woman killed by subway train victim of accident, her family insists.
Coroner William J. Flynn said today that he was nat convinced that the death of Miss Rebecca Silverblatt, amanuensis to Anna Pavlowa, the Russian dancer, who was killed by a subway train at the One Hundred and Forty-ninth Street station of the Bronx line, was accidental. To him it looked like suicide, although the members of Miss Silverblatts family, with whom she lived at № 1655 Washington Ave., were positive there was no reason for her to take her life. The Coroner said witnesses told him they had seen Miss Silverblatt pacing the subway platform in a highly nervous manner for ten minutes before she was killed. Guy Foreland of № 686 East One Hundred and Seventy-second Street, motorman of the train, said Miss Silverblatt leaned over the edge of the platform as his train ran into the station and made na attempt to draw back. The first car struck her before the motorman could do anything. Miss Silverblatt was twenty-five years old. She will be buried to-day.
