It has been more than a month since I have written in my diary. Since 19th June we have been sitting at our country house. It is great here! We ride our bikes a lot. Today, perhaps, we’ll take a ride in a boat with mummy.
We are still soaking up the sun in Moscow. It’s 25 degrees in the shade, and over 30 degrees in the sun.
We were in a zoo.
We went on an “excursion”. This “excursion” was for Years 2 and 3. It was really, really enjoyable. We were in the vicinity of Sparrow Hills. We took breakfast with us and breakfasted al fresco.
Yesterday little Shura received a four for his Russian dictation, which is big news, as Shura always gets a two or a one. Shura was very happy, because mama and papa said, that if Shura will have to resist the dictation, he will have to stay in the same class next year, and now, maybe, he won’t have to.
It's the anniversary of the Revolution, and we're on Red Square.
Easter is behind us! The day after tomorrow study begins! I was very sad to see the back of Easter; it wasn’t so fun this year.
Now I will write down everything, that we had on our table: we had veal, capon, eggs, four Easter cakes, a Russian cheesecake, two more cakes, sweets, salmon, two bottles of wine, one of grape juice, some fruits and, it seems, that was all.
When I had breakfast and went to the gymnasium, it turned out that the gymnasium had already been disbanded due to rioting in Moscow where crowds traverse the streets, shouting and singing. On Vozdvizhensky square the junkers even shot blank rounds into the people; the people are dissatisfied with the sovereign and he will probably renounce his throne and we will have a republic like they do in France.
